Corné de Keizer (33) is CISSP and CISA certified and works as information security consultant at Motiv in The Netherlands. Within this job he is mainly focusing on information security management and security architectures. Motiv also supports his work as secretary of the board at the Uganda Child Care Foundation (UCCF).

Confidentiality of information is an important issue for a lot of people and organizations. Missionary organizations also have their reasons to give information the right level of confidentiality and to keep it that way.

During this awareness session, several every day threats are discussed. Practical examples give insight in the actual situation.

Often is being told that it is very easy for a hacker to take ownership of a computer system and find confidential information. But how easy is this really? Corné de Keizer shows during this session the mindset of a malevolent person. During a short demonstration, some vulnerabilities are exposed.

Organizations that have their technical countermeasures are still open to social engineering. With social engineering, the lack of security awareness of the users is misused. Which backgrounds and possibilities a social engineer uses is part of the presentation.

The human being is still the weak link in information security. During this session is clarified in what way the proper chosen countermeasures have the desired effect within your organization.
