People travelling by train to the ICCM Europe conference here are some helpfull tips
- Use the train to travel to the DOETINCHEM train station,
DO NOT travel TO Doetinchem De Huet! this is a different station!
For a map of the trip from Doetinchem station to ICCM click here
We can pick you up by car from DOETINCHEM Station and take you to the Betteld where the conference is to be held.
BE WARE: This shuttle service will only run BEFORE (Wednesday 10th 19:00h) and AFTER (Saturday 13th 12:30h) the conference.
If you need it during the conference, check with us first (registration(AT)iccm-europe.org). The people driving the cars also want to be at the conference!

- For travel information go to http://www.ns.nl/en/
This will give you information about travelling by Dutch trains. If you have flown into Amsterdam, put in SCHIPHOL (this is the Amsterdam airport) and DOETINCHEM. This should give you a travel plan with places where you change trains and also the track numbers. \\
- Buying a train ticket
** The self-service ticket machines only accepts Dutch debit cards or chipknip (an electronic cash system in the Netherlands). For non-residents of the Netherlands it is therefore only possible to pay using euro coins. The only exception is the self-service machine at Schiphol Airport which also accepts the credit card MasterCard (not VISA).- We therefore advise people who want to purchase tickets at the stations to use a Tickets & Service Office where you can talk to a person (in English) and buy a ticket. This is located right by Starbucks and the Police in the main area of the airport. Please make sure you do buy a train ticket before getting in the train otherwise you might end up paying a fine. You should be able to use banknotes if you go to the ticket office.
- In 2012 a ticket from 'Schiphol airport' to 'Doetinchem' is about € 18,60 (plus 0,50 cents for extra for the ticket office)
- Make sure you get a 'normal' second class ticket. 1st class is only for business travelers and does not add much except for a price increase.
- All you need is a 'One-way journey' ticket because return tickets are only valid on the same day.
- It should be possible to buy a similar ticket in advance for the return date.
- You can also buy a ticket online and print a barcode E-ticket explained
- Call us if you get close
If your mobile phone works in Europe please call us once you are close to Doetinchem. Please be aware that US mobile phones might not work in Holland!! And there are very few public phones. So if your phone might not work please call us from Schiphol before you catch your train (in Schiphol you are more likely to be able to find a public phone that you could use and/or somebody to help you figure this out ) so we know when to pick you up at the Doetinchem station. The phone number is +31 (0)314 627 268 - Foreign credit cards
Please be aware of the fact that in Europe you often need a PIN number to use your credit card!! We have had people travelling Europe not being able to access their money due to the fact that they did not have a PIN number for their credit card!! It is a bit unclear what the limitations are. Let us know if you have any information on this.
If you have any trouble figuring this out please let us know.
Once you have figured out train times please send us an e-mail (registration(AT)iccm-europe.org) with your flight numbers and travel plans for the train. This will give us some idea of when people should be coming into Doetinchem!!
